Living in the DC Metro area can be slightly confusing when it comes to the changing of the seasons. This is because it tends to stay a lot warmer longer than you would expect, especially when Summer changes to Autumn. Well, Autumn is FINALLY here for good (watch, I just jinxed it) and I made some cakes to ring in the new, cooler, beautiful season.
First, I had a THIRD wedding cake this month! The beautiful bride wanted ivory and gold and that is what she got!
This spice cake (perfect flavor for Fall) was covered in ivory fondant and accented with ivory fondant roses and gold swirls. Best wishes to the couple!
Also, one of my favorite regular clients asked for a pretty pumpkin cake to share with their visiting family. Here is how it turned out:
